Outrageous is Utah's own '60s and 70s rock band. The band plays originals and covers songs by:
The Rolling Stones, The Beach Boys, The Rascals, Aretha Franklin, Chicago, Santana, The Temptations, The Righteous Brothers, America, Buffalo Springfield, Elvis Presley, The Kingsmen, The Who, Them, The McCoys, The Animals, Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons and The Beatles.
60s rock and roll at its best, with Motown and a bit of blues thrown in for good measure. Featured for many years at Lagoon, the band opened for Three Dog Night, Johnny Rivers, Jan and Dean, the Mamas & the Papas, the Monkees, Tommy James & the Shondells and the Buckinghams.
When the band was named Rain, they experimented by adding horns to the ensemble. Fans wondered if the name had changed, asking “Is it still Rain?" "Yes. It's still Rain" they said. Eventually the band renamed as Still Rain.
But since 1985 the name “Outrageous” has stuck, and today describes a bunch of mostly 60-year-olds playing rock and roll - very well.
